Whole neighborhoods aging together
Pflugerville grew in waves, and many streets got their roofs within the same few years. Those roofs age together. If you’ve noticed neighbors getting new roofs, it doesn’t automatically mean yours is due, but it does mean your roof is the same age as theirs, and a look costs nothing.
What actually decides a roof’s condition is the shingle quality, attic ventilation, shade, and the storms it has been through. We check all of that up close.
Hail on the north side
The north Austin suburbs sit in a stretch of I-35 that sees hail most springs. Hail knocks the protective granules off shingles and bruises the mat underneath, and the damage can sit there for months before it leaks. After a storm, walk the yard and check:
- Shingles that are missing, lifted, folded, or sitting in the yard.
- Dents on gutters, downspouts, vents, and the AC unit, a sign hail hit the house.
- Piles of shingle granules at the bottom of the downspouts.
- Bent or loose flashing around the chimney and roof edges.
- New water stains on ceilings or around upstairs windows.
- Stay on the ground. Don’t climb a wet or damaged roof. Take photos from the yard and call us.
Repair or replace
One leaking vent or a few lifted shingles is a repair. Shingles that are brittle and bald across every slope are not. We tell you which one you have and why, and if the roof is fine, we say that too. We install shingle, metal, tile, and flat roofs.
Storm damage and insurance
We inspect storm and hail damage, document what we find with photos, and can meet your adjuster at the house. We don’t file or negotiate your claim, and nobody can promise what insurance will pay. The claim stays between you and your insurance company.
