What to check from the ground
Before you call, you can look for signs from the yard:
- Shingles that are missing, lifted, folded, or sitting in the yard.
- Dents on gutters, downspouts, vents, and the AC unit, a sign hail hit the house.
- Piles of shingle granules at the bottom of the downspouts.
- Bent or loose flashing around the chimney and roof edges.
- New water stains on ceilings or around upstairs windows.
- Stay on the ground. Don’t climb a wet or damaged roof. Take photos from the yard and call us.
What our inspection covers
We look at the shingles or panels, flashing, vents, pipe boots, valleys, gutters, and any spots inside the house that worry you. Hail bruises can hide in plain sight, so we look closely and photograph what we find.
Why a close look matters after a storm
Hail damage often hides. A bruised shingle can look fine from the street while its granules are gone and the mat underneath is cracked. That spot may not leak for months, and by then it can be hard to connect the leak to the storm. Wind damage can be just as quiet: shingles lift, break their seal, and lie back down, waiting for the next storm to peel them off.
A careful inspection soon after the storm gives you a clear picture while the damage is fresh. Our photos show what we found and where, so you have a record of the roof’s condition whether or not you decide to call your insurance company.
Not every storm damages every roof. If we look and the roof is fine, we tell you that, and you’re done. There is no pressure to file a claim or to buy anything.
Insurance, in plain words
We inspect storm and hail damage, document what we find with photos, and can meet your adjuster at the house. We don’t file or negotiate your claim, and nobody can promise what insurance will pay.
If the roof needs repair or replacement, we do the work. The claim stays between you and your insurance company.
